Butterfly dampers are used to prevent backdrafts in ducting. They can be used on a variety of types of ducting including flexible foil (insulated and non-insulated) and semi rigid ducting. They are regularly used when ducting out exhaust fans and rangehoods that don’t have their own backdraft device. Clamps or tape can be used to provide connection and sealing.
